We invite you to the screening of animated films made by students of the University of Arts in Poznań.
The year 2020 marks the 40th anniversary of animation at the Poznań University. In 2014, the Faculty of Animation was established at the University of Arts in Poznań. It is a unit based on the staff formed in University of Fine Arts in Poznań, their artistic and scientific successes and proven teaching methodology.
The main idea behind the creation of the Faculty of Animation was to create the first unit in Poland where one can acquire interdisciplinary competences, knowledge and experience in the field of very broadly understood design and realization of moving image, where the main instrument of creation is the animation process. The department focuses on traditional types of animation, using drawing and painting and other areas of creativity in which animation plays an essential role. Fields such as television, film, the Internet, computer games and all kinds of visualizations are nowadays a space where the animation process is one of the main components of an audiovisual work.
The animation is a field of study that has been of great interest to candidates wishing to start their education at the University of Arts in Poznań for many years. This positive trend is due to the well-formed media market, which shows great demand for educated and independent audiovisual artists.
