Art at High Noon! Workshops for seniors
Subject: How to dance sculpture?
Presented by: Agnieszka Kryst and Danka Milewska
02.02.2018, 12pm
How to translate sculpture into movement? How to create choreography from this? How to make the Archer come to life in a dance spectacle? These and other topics will be discussed with Agnieszka Kryst, a dancer. We will learn how the Łuczniczka dance spectacle (premièred on 02.02.2018 at 7pm) was created, inspired by the double symbol of Bydgoszcz – the Archer monument from 1908 in front of the Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz, and the sculpture from 2013, located in front of the Opera Nova. The story of Archers is a story about Bydgoszcz and its multiculturalism, as well as a series of questions about the city’s identity, the memory written into the body and private narrations based on the miniatures of archers in multi generational salons and studios of artists. It is a choreographic story in which experience of a body in movement conveys a new perspective on the city.
The workshop meeting is held as part of Agnieszka Kryst’s Artistic Residence. Danka Milewska, curator of the residence program, will moderate the discussion.
