As a part of Bydgoszcz Academy of Art, Magdalena Dworak-Mróz will be presenting the exhibition of Marta Czarnecka. “(Un)Real Events.”
“Who were we? What are we like? Questions about the essence of human being, his conscious and subconscious choices, identity shaping, perception of the past and the complexity of memory processes are at the centre of Marta Czarnecka’s artistic interests. Despite the seriousness of the themes, her works win the favour of a wide audience with their subtle, finesse calligraphy. They are sophisticated and extremely precise. The artist brings to life abstract forms or paintings, confusingly similar to frames of photographs; their nostalgic aura evokes associations with sentimental memories, an attempt to stop a moment long gone. However, it is not the author’s goal to show the elusive past, but to show how the present looks at the past.”
