Subject: Silent spectacle or the art of pantomime
Presented by: Mieczysław Giedrojć
A series of meetings devoted to art and culture in a broad sense, addressed to people aged 60+. The meetings offer discussions on contemporary art, and creative activities that develop cognitive processes, improving manual dexterity by learning different art techniques and forms of art.
The presentation of an imaginary figure in such a way that it is not only credible, but also “tactile”, is not easy. It requires proper physical expression, balance of mind and body, and careful observation. A person’s sensitivity, concentration and outstanding ability to “enter” the character, his or her story, emotions and psychological state, are essential. Mieczysław Giedrojć, who will introduce the workshop participants to the difficult but also beautiful field of pantomime, has certainly got all of the above-mentioned characteristics.
Mieczysław Giedrojć – a monodrama actor, mime, actor, clown, cultural animator. He studied at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw. He has worked in England, Denmark, France, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Portugal, Switzerland, and Ukraine, showing his own performances and conducting theatre workshops. In 1995, he founded the Theatre of Small Forms in Bydgoszcz, which has been operating until now.
We ask you to come to the workshop in a costume that will not hinder your movements.
