We invite you to a curatorial tour of the exhibition “Kim jest Janina Węgrzynowska?” by the curator of the project, Paulina Olszewska.
The exhibition was born out of the need to tell the story of female artists whose lives and work are fascinating, but have found themselves outside the art circuit and thus remain unnoticed. The project was initiated with the “Grey-orange painting” by Janina Węgrzynowska (1930–2010) from 1979, which is in the Galeria Studio collection. In preparation for the collection’s exhibition in 2021, curator Paulina Olszewska became interested in the op-art composition and its author, about whom only scraps of information could be found.
