Among the speakers invited for this year’s Recipients Cultural Institution Seminar were the curators of our Gallery: Agnieszka Gorzaniak and Karolina Pikosz.
The presentation “Mindfulness, empathy, experience as artistic and educational methods” dealt with building educational strategies in relation to the conference “The Art of Education” – a three-day meeting aimed at teachers. Through its structure, we sought to harness the potential of art in creating a space for co-being and co-experience. The main topics of our talk will therefore be concepts such as mindfulness, empathy, multisensory experience and their use in our own educational practice. We will talk about the design of the “Art of Education” meeting, about putting emphasis on action and the integration of experiences through meditation and relaxation. We will show the value of inter-institutional action or involving local initiatives, as well as activist and volunteer movements. We will suggest how to encourage creative action and real help through the use of simple means, upcycling materials and reducing incentives.
