Dark human figures, made with a few strokes of the brush, placed in a neutral, indefinite space, are characteristic for the compositions by Andrzej Fedder. In the past, they were painted on the canvas, then on zinc plates, and, finally, on the chips of roofing. These recent works have their own unique atmosphere. Fedder used a structure ruined by time, inscribed into it with his painterly gesture and the trace of the chisel. He created a poignant series of works about the existence, about the human condition. Now he sank the chips in plaster they look like relics excavated by conservators. We know a large portion of the composition, the rest is hidden, incomplete.
