The Cud, miód, ultramaryna exhibition is an invitation to immerse yourself in the creative world of Cyryl Zakrzewski, where nature meets modern technology and art meets functionality. It is a space where objects do more than just serve a utilitarian function. Zakrzewski invites us into a world where furniture is not just objects – it is an element that enriches our space, changes the way we perceive our surroundings and prompts us to reflect on the place objects occupy in our lives.
In Zakrzewski’s work, nature is a source of inspiration and, at the same time, a starting point for experiments with form and modern technologies. Raised near the Morasko Meteorite Nature Reserve, the artist has had direct contact with wildlife since childhood, which has developed in him a particular sensitivity to its beauty. In his work, nature takes forms that look as if they have been grown rather than built – it is the result of experiments with wood, form and technology that subtly combine organic shapes with modern production methods.
The exhibition presents objects that balance between design and sculpture, combining functionality with aesthetics. One of the artist’s most recognisable works is the chair Dune inspired by sand dunes. It not only acts as a piece of furniture, but becomes a sculpture whose form alludes to the movement and delicacy of nature. Another example is the coffee table Korallion, which looks as if it has emerged from nature, combines exceptional aesthetic and functional qualities. These are just some of the many examples of how Zakrzewski is able to draw harmony from forms that naturally fit into the space around us.
Zakrzewski combines traditional sculpting techniques with modern 3D modelling, which allows him to create objects that not only have a utilitarian function, but also make us rethink our relationship with nature and technology. Each element, line, detail is the result of the artist’s constant journey in search of new forms that push the boundaries of traditional furniture design. In the exhibition, we can see not only finished objects, but also preliminary sketches and photographs that show the evolution of Zakrzewski’s ideas and the creative process, from the first inspirations to the final works.
In the work titled Noise Zakrzewski makes full use of recycled materials, working with the Boomplastic company, which specialises in creating 100% recycled plastics. This ecological initiative adds a unique dimension to the work, demonstrating how art and modern technology can coexist with eco-friendly solutions, while influencing the future of object design.
Cud, miód, ultramaryna is an exhibition that not only presents utilitarian objects, but questions their role in our everyday lives. Can an object be more than just a functional item? Cyryl Zakrzewski proves that an object can become a work of art that enriches space and our everyday experience. His work is an invitation to interact with space and to reflect on how objects, which are part of our reality, can shape it in subtle but profound ways. It is an invitation to immerse yourself in a creative world where nature meets technology and functionality meets art. Cyryl Zakrzewski’s exhibition is a space full of inspiration, in which each object tells its own story, encouraging us to discover new meanings in the reality around us.
