Design is a creative activity aimed at defining the diverse characteristics of objects and creating the whole process of their creation. This is the shortest way to define something we witness every day, as we are confronted with new things, products and articles every day. However, it is not every day that we have the opportunity and possibility to learn how they are made, who creates them, who works on them so that they not only please our eyes with their beauty, but are also functional and necessary.
That is why, as every year, we organise an exhibition of graduation works by design students in the salons of Municipal Gallery bwa. Various projects from many spheres of design are presented – from furniture, interior furnishings, to textiles or elements filling the public space. Each of these projects is a ready and fully professional offer for industry, prepared by young designers who are just beginning their creative path on the market. In spite of their young age, despite their limited experience, these projects are thoroughly mature, yet they contain a large load of youthful fantasy and energy, are a showcase for the creativity and capabilities of the graduates of the Design from the Academy in Bydgoszcz.
Projects from the Chair of Design at the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz are so innovative and professional that they are an interesting alternative for manufacturers who are increasingly willing to cooperate with the University. Projects for the leading radiator manufacturer Instal-Projekt are currently being implemented, furniture designs prepared for IMS Sofa will soon see the light of day, and the interior of the “Pod Łabędziem” Pharmacy on 5 Gdańska St will also be a realisation of a student project.
All these interesting and original solutions, which the students of the UTP Design Department and their tutors prepared during the academic year, will be available for viewing at the exhibition “Diplomas” at the Municipal Gallery bwa for the next month The exhibition opens on Tuesday, February 16th. This will be the 11th edition of the presentation of graduation theses in the field of Design.
