“Bednarski likes poetry, it gives him a spur for new compositions. He uses biblical and religious motifs, translating words into images. However, regardless of the content, the artist puts a lot of thought to form, building it laboriously until it’s complete. The construction of the works by Bednarski is always a bit surreal, visional, like in poetry. The perspective is sometimes reverted, but the plans are in order. The painter experiments, combining traditional techniques with new ones. He intertwines innovation with his interpretations of the masters of old art. Above all, he always looks for new forms of expression, because he wants to surprise himself, he does not want to be bored. The works by Grzegorz Bednarski always move me with their freshness, lightness and precision of the composition, as well as the depth of their message which is subject to reflection and ambiguous interpretation.”
