Holland. Fotografie. Malerei. Skulptur
Photography, sculpture and painting. Five artists – each of them completely different from one another. What do they have in common? They were born on different dates, their workplaces and homes are miles away from each other. The way of artistic expression, inspiration, are completely separated. Their common thing is Holland, that is obvious, but it doesn´t justify their participation in the same exhibition.
Frank Stroeken and his Holland Art Gallery from Eindhoven combined these artists into one project. It is due to Frank that they are in one space. This space is varied, just as the art of modern Holland is multi-layered. It comprises both the artist from the older and from the younger generation. They have different looks on art, and, as a result, on everyday life, on their relationship towards the world and phenomena around them.
The tradition of solid art collides with the modern anxiety and differences in perceptions of the world.
Certainly, it is not the full picture of the contemporary achievements in the world of the Dutch art. Nevertheless, a very clear image was created of what the artists deal with today and how they realize their notion of creation. Our heart-felt thanks go to Mr Frank van der Vloed – Director at Philips Lighting Nederland B.V. and Mr J.C. Buijs, from the collection of which some works were borrowed for the “Holland. Painting, Photography, Sculpture” exhibition at the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz.
