Karolina Pikosz. Coexistence
Karolina Pikosz studied at the University of Arts in Poznan: 2009-2013 BA studies at the Faculty of Painting, 2013-2015 MA studies at the Faculty of Arts Education, specialising in drawing. She participated in five group exhibitions (among them, a collective exhibition of the Drawing Studio, Wieża Ciśnień Gallery in Bydgoszcz, 2014; exhibition of the best diplomas at the University of Arts in Poznan – Maria Dokowicz Competition, 2015). She’s a vegan interested in Polish literature, behaviourism of animals, post-humanistic threads in philosophy and art, the role of art in the process of emancipation of animals.
“My works revolve around the theme of coexistence of man and nature, open and closed space, the image and space. Coexistence determines the ideas that accompany me in the process of creating images.”
