Maria Kubit focuses her painting on portraits, figurativeness, moving between colour and form. She’s interested in man, his emotions, as well as the problem of identity in society. In her paintings she seeks the transformation of expression. Therefore, for some time the main character in her portraits is Woman, she treats her face as the best base from which to read variations of form, sensitivity and emotions. Of both her internal and external expression.
Maria Kubit was born in 1984 in Krosno, where she graduated from the Tadeusz Brzozowski’s State School of Fine Arts, where she specialised in Unique Forms. Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University, majoring in easel painting. In 2009, she graduated with honours in the study of Professor Lech Wolski. Also obtained an annex in drawing and mural painting.
During her studies she was nominated for the Stanisław Borysowski Prize for the best painting of the academic year 2005/2006. She has participated in numerous open air, including the 20th National Painting Open Air Kraśnik 2007.
She has taken part in solo and group exhibitions: Krosno, Toruń, Warsaw, Bydgoszcz, Kraśnik, Goettingen (Germany).
