2014.06.23 – 2014.06.30
From 23.06 till 30.06.2014 – every day at 6pm we met at the Municipal Gallery bwa, and then the artists set off for the city.
Welcome to another „Performance Nights” organised by the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz. This year, the motto is „Where is my home?” The artists will work both on the Gallery and in the space of the city.
Performance Night – Where is my home
Today’s Europe has created the possibility of constant movement of people from different countries. They can live, work and be socially active outside the place of their birth and upbringing. This perpetual movement results in migration of cultural values. Due to this state, many values overlap creating new ones. Against the background of this picture there is the question of the preservation and respect for cultural differences between natives and newcomers. Is it worth it to take care of memory and maintaining the values shaping the identity of the place and its residents? The project aims to help answer these questions.
We invited the artists from Poland and Germany, as these two countries are highly affected by our central theme, that is emigration – though each of these countries in a completely different way – Poland as a country from which people migrate, and Germany as the destination.
