The idea behind the pictures touches upon my spiritual and emotional confrontation with God. My paintings do not illustrate, they are a medium for an idea. Their formal composition is closed within a system of shapes, lines, vertical and horizontal order, colourful patches and colour systems. The meaning is hidden, it is a MYSTERY. The whole contents of confrontation with inexpressible „God is Spirit” (J 4, 24) are communicated in the paintings without the mediation of figurativeness. The open compositions of paintings lead to the meeting with Uncreated.
In my works, I want to express the mystery of God the Creator, whose glory pervades the whole world created in the likeness of the light. At this point, I would like to cite Saint Thomas Aquinas, whose thought is for me a beacon of creative search: „In beauty, there are two moments that relate to each other: form and light. On the one hand, the Whole is revealed in a fragment through the analogy of references between parts; in this way, form harmoniously reconstructs infinity in the smallest element, thanks to that, beauty can be contemplated and taken in. On the other, the Whole radiates out as light; reaching the subject, it penetrates it thoroughly and seizes towards itself, towards impassable depths.”
