I come from Golub-Dobrzyń. I live and work here. In 2007, I graduated from the Leon Wyczółkowski State High School of Fine Arts in Bydgoszcz, where I specialised in visual advertising. My graduation works were among the small group of images presented at the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz.
I continued my artistic education with easel painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. I studied the ins and outs of painting workshop under Prof. Piotr Klugowski. I created an annex in drawing under Prof. Krzysztof Pituła, while an annex in stained glass under Dr. Andrzej Kałucki. Got the diploma in 2013. My graduation works were rewarded and presented at the Forum Gallery of the College of Education and at an exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Toruń.
The period of high school and studying is full of open airs, exhibitions and creating my own artistic "me". During that time, I also worked in the maintenance of works of art paintings, sculptures and churches. I had a year internship at the Cultural Centre in Golub-Dobrzyń, where I taught art and painted copies of various images. I also organised events, exhibitions, concerts and took care of their artistic settings. In the Cultural Centre I presented my works once again. They are set in the trend of Tachism and expressive abstraction. The key role in those images is played by stains and colours. Colour is the means of emotions.
In 2014, my work titled „Eksplozja nr 1” (Explosion No. 1) won the national competition – Art inspired by science. From the microcosm to the universe – organised by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
I paint large-format images and do interior design. I did murals with spatial forms in the Rybaczówka restaurant at Ruziec near Golub-Dobrzyn, Siesta restaurant in Brzozówka near Toruń, and a mural for the Junior High School in Golub-Dobrzyń.
Most of my work come from abstraction, which I convert to my needs. I give it forms. For me, painting is an experiment in matter and gesture. I don’t present the reality as we see it. I myself create new qualities, in my opinion equal to nature, because they are not determined by anything, living their own lives in a short moment. I’m the founder and the artistic director of STUDIO TWORZYWO. I do paintings, murals, drawings, computer graphics. I conduct workshops for children, teenagers and adults.
In my paintings, I try to follow the way of the surrealists. In the creative act I am accompanied by my curiosity in altered states of consciousness of mentally ill people, by the search for a replacement factor that would allow me to experience similar irrational emotions. The images collected here are the result of an experiment — an automatic recording of my vision of illogical and meaningless sentences appearing in my mind, without concern for any particular effect or formal coherence of thought.
All the artistic actions clustered in various compositions are intended to suggest fantasy of dream visions, experiences, mysteries. They create a reminiscence of external stimuli and, most importantly, of internal ones. Spontaneous, automatic recording of mental states connected with the use of collage and dripping techniques, as well as inspiration with Tachism, all together form a polemic with surrealism and gesture painting. In this way, a simulation of tension, terror, explosions and the eternal struggle of opposites is created.
