My journey as a photography artist started on June 25th, 1992. It was on that day that my first exposition, Układanie rzeczywistości (Arranging the Reality), took place, referring to recording of the world around us from the viewpoint of a lens. The photographs, to which I often come back, are a kind of a metaphor for the recorded fragments of the city. For me, the exhibition, presented for the first time at the Author’s Gallery of Jan Kaja and Jacek Soliński in Bydgoszcz, had for me a dimension of a “new” way of my development.
“Better known as a musician, co-founder of Variete, author of more than a dozen albums, winner of numerous awards and honours, cooperating with many respected musicians, takes up the challenge and starts a new story in his life – photography, with which he becomes so infatuated that he gives up his previous life. Over the years, this love resulted in several exhibitions in Poland and abroad, as well as numerous awards and publications.”
The “25 photos for 25 years” exhibition is an attempt at a retrospective of my work as a photographer. As the title suggests, it will present photographs selected by me, the most important in my art. I am under the impression, looking all that time through the camera lens, that I have changed very much, I see the surrounding reality, people, time and places in a different way.
