The 6th National Leon Wyczółkowski Painting Competition in Bydgoszcz is the next edition of the biennial event, which aims to present, confront and reward the best representatives of contemporary painting from all over Poland. The competition is open to both début and established artists with a rich and recognised artistic output.
A five-member jury of renowned painters decides on the final and prize-winning works. This year they were: Beata Ewa Białecka, Piotr C. Kowalski, Dariusz Milczarek, Aleksandra Simińska, Katarzyna Szeszycka. This year’s edition attracted 485 painters who submitted 1302 works. The exhibition will showcase the works of 74 finalists. On the day of the vernissage, the winners of the three main prizes, as well as the distinctions provided for in the competition, will be announced.
